OZ16xx

The OZ16xx is a cooled-DFB-laser RFoF transceiver module in a cast-metal housing, offering frequency options up to 10 GHz.

  • Product Summary
  • Product Details
  • The OZ16xx is a standalone flange-mount RFoF module offering bandwidth options from a 30 MHz lower cutoff up to 3, 6, 8 or 10 GHz. Closed-loop optical power and laser diode temperature control deliver exceptionally high SFDR, up to 115 dB/Hz2/3. Operating from -40C to +65C (optionally +85C) and powered from +12 VDC (optionally 28V), it is monitored via a DB9 connector and an optional I2C interface; up to 5 units fit into a single 19-inch 1RU OZ9800 chassis.

    • Frequency range: 30 MHz - 3/6/8/10 GHz (option dependent), lower limit optionally to 10 kHz
    • RF interface: 50 Ohm SMA; optical: SC/APC bulkhead (FC/APC optional)
    • Fiber: 9/125 um single-mode (multimode compatibility available up to 3 GHz)
    • Wavelengths: 1310 nm, 1550 nm, DWDM options
    • Operating temperature: -40C to +65C standard, optionally up to +85C
    • Supply voltage: +12 VDC standard (optional +28V)
    • Housing: rugged dust-tight cast metal, 78x128x32 mm, ~340 grams
    • Dynamic range: exceptionally high SFDR up to 115 dB/Hz2/3
    • Manual receiver gain adjustment: 30 dB range
    • Monitoring: LD bias, LD power, PD monitoring and alarms; LED status indicators
    • Control interface: DB9 connector, optional I2C serial interface
    • Up to 5 modules fit into a single 19" 1RU OZ9800 chassis
    • Closed-loop optical power and laser diode temperature control; Class 1 laser emission compliant

Applications: MMDS, antenna remoting, GPS distribution, satellite ground stations, optical delay lines, L/C/X-band links.
